Throughout its history, NEPS has sought to leverage the educational process aimed at training leaders in both rural and urban areas, with a primary focus on women who have historically been deprived of public policies geared towards their local development initiatives. During this time, we have developed actions to improve access to water in rural communities, both for human consumption and for the production of healthy food. Through water management, we have enabled a significant increase in the availability of healthy food for families, as well as income generation through agroecological fairs and socially responsible marketing. We have implemented productive backyards and produced knowledge through training in various topics such as water, climate, biomes, popular cultures, food security, and community communication. Our ultimate goal is participation in forums and networks across different fronts focused on living with the semi-arid environment.
