We know that investing in Education will make it possible to build a better tomorrow for the country. This is one of the pillars of our work, to promote systemic changes and social balance, providing permanent improvements for millions of Brazilians. It is continuous work, which demands efforts to generate transformations and, especially, to maintain them.
Continuing good educational results is the challenge that Ceará faces, as the state has 73 of the 100 best public schools in Brazil and almost all cities (182 of 184) managed to reach the target determined by the Ministry of Education for Elementary Education .
We need to keep this network strengthened and active. We seek to achieve this goal by supporting entities that promote significant actions in the region, such as the five Social Organizations in Ceará that were selected to participate in Futuro Bem Maior , our program to strengthen community impact initiatives. The objective is to leverage these CSOs, strengthening management to expand the impact promoted in the community.
Families in vulnerable conditions, mainly farmers in poverty, find important support from the Guarani Community Association, which helps educate children and young people, with educational, cultural and sporting activities.
The Pecém Family Association, which was created to help a needy community that survived from fishing and agriculture, living in mud houses, without treated water or sanitation, managed to change this reality, combat malnutrition and child mortality, and strengthen the education with daycare, workshops, college, vocational and English courses.
Support for rural families is the focus of the work of the Brotar Institute, which, among several initiatives, promotes environmental education with the reuse of water in school units to use in agroecological gardens. It also has sports and leisure programs for children, young people and adults.
In Cariri Cearense, in the northeastern hinterland, the Madeira da Terra Institute fights to save the caatinga from deforestation and desertification. Among the projects developed is an educational action to train female leaders and generate income, the Women's School of Apiculture, which offers opportunities to women and helps preserve the diversity of the region's fauna and flora.
Operating in several neighborhoods in the municipality of Itapipoca, the Itapipoca Family Promotion and Support Society (Soprafi) develops socio-educational, cultural, sporting and technology activities with children, adolescents and young people.
We need to think about the community as a whole, with decent housing and subsistence conditions, because only integral development guarantees the right circumstances to promote educational improvements. This joint work, partnerships generated from common purposes and objectives, is the way to promote educational changes that will allow us to create generations that are more prepared not only for the job market, but also to build a more structured and conscious society.
