The objective is to train and train social leaders to impact their communities using education, technology and income.
The project consists of creating a social university, strengthening NGO workshops and installing a leadership school. With this, the goal is, by 2024, to be present in 1200 communities, train 540 leaders and have 100 accelerated units.
Given the worrying scenario that the civilian population is experiencing where the economy and health have been affected in disastrous ways, institutions need to always be alert to act proactively in their local communities so that the impact is as small as possible. And with Gerando Falcões it was no different.
MBM's partnership with Gerando Falcões was one of the first steps for the NGO to accelerate the various local strengthening initiatives, investing in franchised business models, so that the community can expand and establish itself financially.
One example was building a school to train leaders and management in order to disseminate knowledge, in addition to creating traditional workshops to help unemployed people enter the job market. Another objective is to improve and boost the lives of young people living in the outskirts and develop their skills, thus becoming an engine of income generation for families and thereby increasing the chances of success in the future.
“For us, training and strengthening community leaders is a crucial point in the autonomous development of the least favored regions of this country. The partnership with Gerando Falcões, and other co-investors, comes to generate systemic impact in the favelas, bringing prosperity and breaking down social blockages.” Carola Matarazzo, executive director of Movimento Bem Maior.
“We are a network operating within outskirts and favelas, which works on education, through culture, sport and professional qualifications, to offer citizenship and generate opportunities. We need to break down walls and build bridges to put the misery of the favelas in a museum.
Brazil will be better when there is no border between the favela and Faria Lima, between the asphalt and the hill. This is the way”, says Edu Lyra, CEO and founder of Rede Gerando Falcões.
