The tax that discourages donations

In an article published on the Estadão website, on November 29, Carola Matarazzo, executive director of Movimento Bem Maior, and João Paulo Vergueiro, executive director of the Brazilian Association of Fundraisers, talk about the scope of the ITCMD – the transmission tax causes mortis and donation (a tax that falls on inheritance and private donations), which ends up reaching the field of private social investment.

“We defend changing the section of the Constitution that talks about the topic, proposing a new clear national rule, with legal certainty and uniformity, to stimulate philanthropic investments in the country”.
