Check out 5 food fundraising campaigns to donate this year-end.
Hunger and extreme poverty are once again a sad reality in Brazil. The crisis, worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic, has intensified inequalities and also the social challenges that the country faces.
Hunger in Brazil has advanced and today affects 19.1 million people (9% of the population). The most recent survey by the PENSSAN Network shows that there are 116.8 million people in a situation of food insecurity.
On the other hand, this critical moment also highlighted the mobilization strength of civil society . Never has so much been donated! In Brazil alone, from the beginning of the pandemic until July 2021, more than 7.1 billion reais were donated, according to data from ABCR .
