In an article published in the Estado de Minas newspaper, the executive director of MBM, Carola MB Matarazzo, analyzes the challenges of strategic philanthropy for the year 2024. The focus is on the need to consolidate people-centered values to strengthen social rights.
“The reconstruction and strengthening of basic social rights, such as the most fundamental of them all, food on the plate, demands a paradigm shift: the decentralization of power and the promotion of autonomy in communities,” she emphasizes. As an example, she cites the Pact Against Hunger initiative, of which she is a co-founder.
Looking ahead to 2024, Matarazzo points to key efforts in developing the philanthropic ecosystem, supporting initiatives for knowledge production and fostering community philanthropy, such as the PIPA Initiative and the Agbara Fund.
