Our CEO, Carola MB Matarazzo, participated in the third episode of Folha de S.Paulo's special series, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the Social Entrepreneur Award. During the conversation, Carola highlighted the importance of collaboration in promoting significant social change and reducing inequalities in Brazil.
Carola recalled the partnership between the Bem Maior Movement, IDIS – Institute for the Development of Social Investment, and B Social during the pandemic, a collaboration that resulted in the award in 2020. “In one week, we set up an emergency fund for healthcare. It was a huge challenge, with three organizations at different stages that had never worked together before.”
In the chat, along with Paula Fabiani, CEO of IDIS – Institute for the Development of Social Investment, and Gabriel Marmentini, co-founder and executive director of Politize!, Carola discussed the challenges of strengthening civil society in Brazil. She highlighted: “The Bem Maior Movement is dedicated to fostering philanthropy in Brazil. A huge challenge in a country of continental dimensions, with deep-rooted social problems and ills that perpetuate themselves. We have the challenge of raising awareness among the population, civil society, and philanthropists about the need to share responsibility and engage in social solutions for the country.”
