May 2024The Habitability platform highlights the impact of the Bem Maior Movement on Brazilian philanthropy, with Richard AC Sippli as spokesperson. One of our contributions highlighted in the article was advocacy for ITCMD exemption for the third sector during the Tax Reform. We also detail our initiatives to strengthen CSOs and philanthropic infrastructure.
Sippli addressed the challenges of philanthropic culture in Brazil, but expressed optimism: “Brazil has few tax incentives compared to other countries, but the removal of the ITCMD (Inheritance and Gift Tax) represents a major step forward. The sector is structuring and strengthening itself, connecting in a more cohesive network capable of great transformations.”
